WEEKEND TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT A SUCCESS (8/15/2006) NEW HAVEN – As part of its continuing traffic enforcement campaign, the New Haven Police Department, in coordination with the Connecticut State Police, conducted joint motor vehicle enforcement on Ella Grasso Boulevard and on Quinnipiac Avenue, on Friday, 11 August 2006. A total of 49 tickets were issued, including 22 tickets issued by the NHPD for the following offenses: 7 Travelling too fast 1 Operating a motor vehicle without a license 1 Failure to wear a seat belt / have child secured in safety seat 1 Driving under the influence 7 Failure to obey control signal 4 Operation of a motor vehicle while using a hand-held mobile telephone 1 Failure to display license plate Members of the New Haven Police Department will continue to apprehend drivers who pose a danger to other motorists on the roadway.
